Foxconn announced as manufacturer, LOCK8 at Apple

LOCK8 to be manufactured by Foxconn

LOCK8 has proudly announced its co-operation with Foxconn Mexico, a global leader in electronics manufacturing. Foxconn normally doesn’t work with small Start-Ups so this makes the news extra special. Working with industry leaders will help make LOCK8 to be of the highest standard, nothing short of our expectation. After touring the Mexican plants we were impressed with the working conditions that were akin to here in Europe. We disagree with the Chinese working conditions, that is why we never considered producing there.

LOCK8 will also be working with Onyx to help us with the mechanical design, stack-up (assembly) and testing to make sure everything will be optimized for when the time comes for mass production.

LOCK8 at Apple

A great week for LOCK8 finished in Apple’s flagship store in Berlin. Founders, Franz and Daniel, were on stage with Christophe Maire for a panel discussion on building successful Start-Ups. The exclusive event was moderated by David Knight from Silicon Allee. It was a great evening that was recorded to be put on iTunes for everyone to see. David Knight also expressed his need for a LOCK8 after recounting a personal story involving keys.

This is a very exciting time for LOCK8 as we are striving to deliver a smart bike lock that will change the way you think about bicycle security and bike sharing.
